STRION LASER MASTER X Handheld Laser Welder Supports the 2026 ARC Cup International Welding Competition
On October 16, 2026, the 10th “Belt and Road” and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition – ARC Cup International Welding Competition officially opened. STRION LASER brought its MASTER X handheld laser welding machine to the competition, providing welding equipment and on-site technical support to help develop internationally skilled welding professionals.

About the ARC Cup International Welding Competition
Recognized by the International Institute of Welding (IIW) as the “World Cup of Welding,” the ARC Cup International Welding Competition is an important event within the “Belt and Road” and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition.
The competition has also been included in the Competition Analysis Report of Chinese College Students published by the China Association of Higher Education, highlighting its role in technical education and skills development.

MASTER X Puts Its Welding Performance to the Test
At the competition venue, participants from multiple countries gathered to demonstrate their welding skills and exchange practical experience. As one of the equipment sponsors, STRION LASER supplied MASTER X handheld laser welding machines for participants to use in hands-on competition tasks.
Feedback from participants highlighted several practical advantages of the equipment:
- Lightweight torch design: Comfortable to hold, helping reduce fatigue during extended operation.
- Intuitive controls: A straightforward interface and easy parameter adjustment make the equipment more accessible to operators.
- Consistent welding performance: Stable output supports smooth, neat weld formation when process parameters and working conditions are properly matched.
- Flexible operation: The portable design helps operators work across different positions and adapt to varied welding scenarios.
The hands-on experience gave participants an opportunity to evaluate the usability of handheld laser welding equipment in a practical setting and explore its potential for different welding applications.

Connecting Skills Competitions with Advanced Manufacturing
As manufacturing moves toward greater automation and higher precision, laser welding is becoming an increasingly important process in advanced manufacturing. Its advantages can include concentrated heat input, precise process control and efficient welding, depending on the material, joint design and application requirements.
Through the ARC Cup competition, STRION LASER brought advanced laser welding equipment into a practical skills-development environment. By giving participants direct experience with the MASTER X series, the event helped connect technical education with industrial applications and allowed aspiring welders to explore modern welding technology through hands-on practice.
Initiatives like this also help bring educational institutions and industry closer together, encouraging training programs to reflect the technologies and practical skills required in modern manufacturing.
